  Mercedes History

On this day in Mercedes Benz Daimler history...

Matrix, the

The Matrix 1999 The Matrix was filmed in Sydney in about 1997/8. The Mercedes shown in this is (I'm a bit ashamed of this) is a burnt out wreck. It is a W114 chassis I beleive, although because it's merely a skeleton it's hard to tell. This is the theme of the movie, dark, dingy, gothic, death. You see it toward the end when Neo (Keanu Reeves) is running from the agents (Hugo Weaving & co) through the markets and back streets. It's shown for about 5 seconds but the films makers obviously make a point of showing it. This is a great site Paul. Nup. Submitted by Michael Oakes
